There is so much to see and do in Texas’ state capitol. Austin is a very eclectic city, and people who live in the area have given the city the slogan “Keep Austin Weird”. It’s easy to drive around Austin, but it is also well served by public transit including buses and the new commuter rail. Unlike Dallas, you won’t find any professional sports teams in the city. If you want to see a sporting event, your best bet is to attend the games at the local University of Texas. Austin is beautiful and hot in the summer. If you can’t stand the heat, Austin has mild winters, making it a great time of year to visit the city.
