Looking Back and Going Forward: 2017 in Review

Looking Back and Going Forward: 2017 in Review

We have to admit 2017 has been a great year at InTown Suites. We’ve made a few (big) changes to our properties, helped more than a few customers feel comfortable at their home away from home, and have been busy helping our local communities in any way we can. We’re reflecting back on this past year, taking stock, and looking forward to an awesome 2018. Here’s a recap of InTown Suites 2017 Year in Review:

NEW LOOK
It’s been a busy year at many of our InTown Suites properties, as we’ve moved forward with several upgrades to both the exterior and interior of our extended stay accommodations.

A refresh project put a new face to the exteriors of 51 of our InTown Suites extended stay properties by adding signage that features our new logo, a fresh layer of exterior paint, and landscaping to enhance our curb appeal.

Inside we were just a busy, making sure suites and amenities are as comfortable as can be during your extended stay with our major makeover. We overhauled 63 InTown Suites properties with a fresh coat of interior paint, new carpet and updated flooring, modern appliances, new bedding and mattresses, and tech-enabled USB ports for all your charging needs.

Making sure you get a good night’s rest was also top of mind throughout these renovations. That’s why we equipped each upgraded room with our exclusive Home by InTown Suites® Mattress. Available in three sizes to suit your needs, our beds offer pocketed coil spring technology and three layers of cooling memory foam for that touch of personalized comfort.

And we’re not done yet! Keep following us here as we bring more news, updates, and photos on our continued refresh and makeover.

CUSTOMERS FIRST
We pride ourselves on providing quality extended stay accommodations at an affordable price. Work travel, family illness, natural disaster—there are many reasons people flock to our 189 locations, and no matter what the circumstance, we aim to make you feel at home.  This year when Houston and South Florida were hit hard by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, our local properties in neighboring counties and states were there, ready to help in any way possible. Here are just some of the customers we were able to help out in a time of need:

“We arrived at 4 PM and the Property Manager was very gracious and gave us the key to our room so we could inspect it first. It was neat and clean. We were grateful to have a good air conditioner, hot shower, and TV! Thank you InTown Suites Montgomery, especially Pat the Property Manager for making our hurricane adventure pleasant!”
– SJ Haddon, InTown Suites guest

“I was at InTown Suites under the FEMA program. The two women that were working the desk were so nice and patient with the displaced families. I just wanted to let corporate know they were very professional.»
– Anonymous hurricane evacuee and InTown Suites guest

Knowing our guests have enjoyed their stay helps us keep the momentum going. Your feedback is invaluable. Let us know about your stay (good or bad), so we can help make your extended stay as comfortable as can be.

GIVING BACK
Each of our extended stay properties across 22 states has their own unique passion projects and initiatives. Collectively we call these community outreach efforts InTown Gives Back, and 2017 was a record-setting year for good deeds. While we’ve written many blog posts on these efforts, we’d like to take a moment to call out some of our properties for building stronger community ties and helping those in need:

InTown Suites’ corporate office has been busy all year, participating in several initiatives to give back and say thanks. The season of giving started with the office’s Second Annual Operation Gratitude Letter Writing Event to thank wounded heroes, veterans, recruits and deployed soldiers for their sacrifices. The team continued spreading good vibes with its Second Annual Backpack Drive for six local Atlanta students who otherwise would not have the means to purchase the supplies needed to be academically successful. They ended the year off right, again helping out local Atlanta children with not one but three successful toy drives that helped bring a bit of holiday cheer to 14 families.

Our Southern Virginia, San Antonio, and Austin extended stays all hosted several holiday food drive events that helped to bring in more than a 1000 pounds of food donations. Our Chattanooga Airport (ZCT) Extended Stay also went out of their way to feed their community this Thanksgiving, by donating frozen turkeys and ham to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.

Our Indianapolis and North Eastern Atlanta properties went above and beyond to partner with local change makers and provide hot Thanksgiving and holiday meals to our guests who were unable to make it home. A particular shout out goes to our Orlando UCF (YOF) Extended Stay who welcomed several families that had fled from storm-ravaged Puerto Rico and helped make their Thanksgiving be one to remember.

Even Halloween provided an opportunity to give back at our Newport News City Center (XNN) Extended Stay where the team got together this past Halloween to provide visiting families the chance to carve pumpkins together while enjoying some Halloween treats—all free of charge.

Community is at the heart of everything we do at InTown Suites and we’re always looking for more opportunities to help. Reach out to us with your idea or special project in your area!

GOING FORWARD
InTown isn’t the only thing we’ve been working on either, this year we launched a new brand called Uptown Suites in North Carolina and Tennessee. We started with our Concord and Smyrna properties, but we’ve already broken ground on two more future locations in Homestead/Miami, Florida and Riverview/Tampa, Florida, and we have more in the works.

This year is bound to be even better, so stay tuned and continue to follow along on our blog for InTown news and updates.
