If you have a taste for Mexican try JimmyChangas! Here they offer all the southwestern fare you could want, including chimichangas! Open for lunch and dinner, from 11 AM – 10 PM, Sunday through Thursday, from 11 AM – 12 AM, Friday, and from 12 PM – 12 AM on Saturday.

The museum and gardens are open weekly and offer public tours Tuesdays through Sunday from 9 AM – 4 PM.

Las Olas Boulevard

This is THE boulevard to visit in Fort Lauderdale. Filled with shops, boutiques, and eateries for every style and taste. Walk along the river’s edge as you window shop or enjoy a latte at one of the cafes. They even offer water tours!

Nuevo’s Cubanos

Enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine at Nuevo’s Cubano’s. You can’t miss the brightly colored building with stools around the outside, you order and eat from the windows. Grub on a Cuban sandwich, carne asada, or the fish of the day!

Dolce Salato Pizza & Gelato

Grab a slice and a scoop at this Italian spot in Fort Lauderdale. Dolce Salato has so many menu items to pick from like there la Margherita classic pizza, stuffed pies, and flavor upon flavor or gelato!

 

Jacksonville

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park

Get out and enjoy the fresh air and natural beauty of Jacksonville at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. There is a $5 per car fee (up to six people) but once you’re in you can enjoy the entire park. Hike, bike, or sunbathe! They also have freshwater fishing, boat and kayak rentals available.

Friendship Fountain

This free attraction in Jacksonville is one of the highlights of the Southbank Riverwalk! Once the largest fountain, Friendship Fountain pumps up to 6,500 gallons per minute and shoots to 100 feet high. This is a great spot for a romantic evening walk or photo op!

Chomp Chomp

This little hole-in-the-wall is a local favorite with a very eclectic menu. Order a fried mozzarella cheeseburger special, the Westsider, or the Philly Experiment. They even offer panko crusted chicken salad!

Green Papaya

If you’re looking for Asian inspired food try Green Papaya. This unique spot offers up Asian dishes with a Thai flare. Try the Calamari Puffs, the Green Papaya Salad, or the Bankok Stir Fry. Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 AM – 9:30 PM.

 

Tampa

What to do: This little town is known for its famous bay and its culture. There is a lot to see and explore on a spring break trip on the west side of Florida.

Tampa Riverwalk

Tampa Downtown

Grab some southern-style bbq at Al’s. The menu is simple but the flavors are complex when you eat at Al’s. Try their quarter slab of ribs, Aunt Beulah’s Special Pork, and sides like Aunt Lea’s Okra & Tomatoes.

 

Orlando

Spirit of the Swamp Airboat Rides

When in Orlando, take an airboat ride! Spirit of the Swamp offers airboat rides and gator tours for all! While this activity may be a little bit of a splurge at $49.95, it’s worth every penny to get to see all the Floridian wildlife and feel the wind in your hair as you glide.

Cafe Tu Tu Tango’s

Enjoy small plates like crispy falafel, flatbreads, and seafood as local artists paint that this Orlando spot. Enjoy the bright atmosphere, cool drinks, and live entertainment!

Marlow’s Tavern

This modern restaurant has a unique twist on American fare that will keep you coming back for more! Try the Royale with cheese and a side of truffle parmesan french fries, then finish your meal with something sweet like a fried banana split!
