We suggest pouring yourself a glass of wine, drawing a bath and cracking open one of these intriguing books.

Don’t be fooled by the Oprah Book Club sticker. While this is a book about the aftermath of a woman’s marriage falling apart, this is not another Eat, Pray, Love. Cheryl’s dark and gritty memoir will have you up reading until all hours of the night, as she recounts her time as an inexperienced backpacker hiking from California to Oregon. This book is being turned into a movie, and the actress Reese Witherspoon is getting lots of Oscar buzz. Read this book before the Academy awards her with another best actress nominee.

Edge of EternityKen Follett
If you love a good epic, we highly recommend The Century Trilogy, where the author traces the history of the 20th Century via five families. The Edge of Eternity is the final book in the series and it captures the eras most of us know best, 1960-1990. At over 1000 pages, this is a great pick for a business trip of a week or more.

She made you laugh when she co-hosted the Golden Gloves, and in her first book, being released this fall, she’s guaranteed to have you laughing from start to finish. If you love Tina Fey’s Bossypants or Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me, then you’re going to fall in love with Yes Please.

You Might Be a Zombie and Other Bad News: Shocking but Utterly True Facts – Multiple Authors
This is a great book to download as an audio file for long, dull highway driving, as it will keep you entertained for hours on end. This non-fiction book is by the smart and hilarious team at Cracked.com. Our favorite article from the book is “Five Conspiracies that Nearly Brought Down the US Government.
