Grande Ole Opry

The Grand Ole Opry has been a staple in Music City for over 90 years. If you’re looking for things to do near our one of our extended stay hotels in Nashville, this is definitely one not to miss!

The history of the Grand Ole Opry all started when it was broadcast on live radio over 90 years ago. The Grand Ole Opry called many Nashville historical buildings home throughout its 90 years. In the 1930s the Opry could be found at Hillsboro Theatre and from 1943 – 1970s it resided at Ryman Auditorium. Though the location of the Opry has changed throughout its history, the Opry remains a household name in the country music industry. The Grand Ole Opry has helped blossom some of the most iconic country music artists like Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Alan Jackson, and Carrie Underwood.

There are many ways to experience the Grand Ole Opry, take in a show, get a tour, or do both!

A Grand Ole Opry show includes a mix of country and contemporary pop music. The Opry Country Classics show includes a mix of old and contemporary country music. And The Opry At The Ryman show includes a show by various artists at the historic Ryman Auditorium.

Pair your show with one of the many backstage tour options at the Opry! Book a daytime guided tour and see where top country musicians started their career. During the tour you’ll view pictures, walk the Opry House, and you might even get a chance to step inside the famed wooden Opry circle! Buy tickets to a Post-Show Backstage tour and get a glimpse into the dressing rooms where countless country music chart-toppers have sat before a big show. This tour also includes a visit to Studio A, where the HEE HAW show was once filmed.

When planning your trip don’t forget to save room for a bite to eat! In the south, it’s all about the low and slow ‘que! The Opry Back Porch BBQ truck is open from 5-8PM for small bites that you can enjoy on the plaza or take with you.

The Grand Ole Opry is just a few minutes drive from our Intown Suites Nashville location. Grab an uber or hop in the car and enjoy some of Nashville’s best entertainment!
