Atlanta is hustling and bustling, but getting around is easy and simple when you take advantage of the Atlanta public transportation system. The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority or more commonly known as MARTA is the public transit system in Atlanta; it’s an affordable way to get around town and explore by rail.
There are four lines that run throughout downtown Atlanta, the red, gold, blue, and green lines. Each line with its own stops, stations, and transfers.

All rail lines are available the majority of the day and run all day long including weekends and holidays.
6:00 am – 9:00 am – Every 10 minutes
9:00 am – 3:00 pm – Every 12 minutes
3:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Every 10 minutes
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm – Every 12-15 minutes
8:00 pm – Later – Approximately every 20 minutes
Weekends and holiday frequencies are approximately every 20 minutes.
Standard fare to ride MARTA is $2.50 for a single trip and includes 4 transfers within a 3-hour period. For first time riders that are planning to ride the MARTA through-out their stay, grab a Breeze Card for an additional $2. The Breeze card allows you to register your card for balance protection and load your card multiple times for multiple rides.
