As you may know, local emergency services were dispatched to investigate reports of potentially hazardous gas at InTown Suites Pittsburgh on the morning of October 3, 2023. We are writing to confirm that local authorities have conducted a comprehensive investigation and concluded no hazardous materials were identified on the premises.

To ensure the safety of our guests and employees, Ross Township authorities used numerous multi-gas detection monitors inside and outside our building on the day in question, and verified that no hazardous gas was detected inside or outside of the building. In addition, fire and emergency services performed additional safety checks of our guest rooms and common spaces, and confirmed that the rooms were safe for occupancy before we welcomed guests to return. We also wanted to make you aware that, contrary to some media reports, there were no professionally applied products for rodents used around the facility at that time, and treatments used farther away from the facility did not contain zinc phosphide or produce phosphine gas.

We thank all of you for your cooperation on that day, and for your patience as we waited for local authorities to complete their investigation. We also thank you for your continued cooperation with our ongoing safety checks to ensure that critical systems, which are designed to maintain our high standards of health and safety for our guests, are functioning properly.
