Dollar Bank Cinema in the Park
Every Wednesday and Sunday at dusk, some of Pittsburgh’s public parks show outdoor movies, free of charge! This makes for a great date night, or outing for the whole family. Remember to pack a blanket or lawn chairs and some snacks. Some of the movies that will be playing this July include Mary Poppins, Frozen, and Space Jam. View the full schedule here.
SouthSide Works Exposed
SouthSide Works Exposed is an incredible three-day event filled with Arts and Crafts vendors at the SouthSide Works. From July 11-13, you’ll find more than 65 vendors selling artisan goods, including food and drinks. This is the perfect place to go to find one-of-a-kind souvenirs and gifts. While the Holidays might be the furthest thing from your mind in the summer, you could get a lot of your Christmas shopping done here. You should also pick up yourself a few goodies to remind yourself of your visit to Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Beerfest
Beer lovers mark your calendars for July 18th and 19th to make sure you attend Pittsburgh Beerfest. Beerfest goers will be able to sample more than 250 craft beers from 80 breweries around the country, including some local specialties. If all that drinking makes you hungry, you’ll be in luck – some of Pittsburg’s favorite Food Trucks will be in attendance. Best of all, proceeds from the ticket sales go towards helping the Pittsburgh Area Animal Rescues. Beer in support of a good cause, who wouldn’t love to help out?
Rib & Wing Festival
If you’d like to get out of the city for a bit, head to the nearby Seven Springs Mountain Resort for their Rib & Wing Festival. Indulge in three delicious days of eating, from July 25th to July 27th. Fill your stomachs with fall-off-the-bone tender ribs, spicy wings and more. If you didn’t get enough beer at Beerfest, imbibe some more at the onsite beer garden. There will also be live musical guests and a kid zone, so you can bring along the whole family if they are traveling with you.
Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
From its humble beginnings, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix has transformed into one of the city’s biggest festivals with 10 days of scheduled events. This year, the 31st annual Grand Prix will take place July 11-20th. From the mystery course ‘Kick-Off Rallye’ to Car Shows to Parades, there’s plenty to take in, and many of the events are free to attend. You won’t want to miss Race Day on July 20th when they crown the winner of the Grand Prix.
