What makes this not-for-profit museum so interesting is that they do not own a collection of art. This museum, which was founded in 1952, works strategically with museum partners and education institutes to bring art exhibitions and curated exhibits to its visitors.

Past exhibits that have been showcased at Arlington Museum of Art include Modern Masters, Pablo Picasso: Ceramics, Salvador Dáli, Seeing is a Nervous Habit, Cut! Costume and the Cinema, and so many others!

Modern Masters included works from artists like Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein, and Willem de Kooning. This exhibit featured a variety of Modern Art paintings, prints, and sculptural pieces in a variety of mediums, all exploring the mid-Twentieth Century.

The Salvador Dali: Visions of Eternity exhibition included 101 pieces for Surrealism. The works of art were created in a variety of mediums like lithographs, etchings, sculpture, oil paintings and more.

Another unique exhibition this museum brings to the community is Youth Art Month. During the spring the Arlington Museum of Art works with the Arlington Independent School District to showcase up-and-coming young local artists. The exhibition lasts for six weeks and rotates student work from Arlington, Sam Houston, Juan Sequin, Lamar, Martin, and Bowie High Schools. The works include paintings, prints, sculptures and more in a variety of different mediums.

  • Monday Closed
  • Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm
