The Historic Travellers Rest Plantation & Museum is the historic 1799 Home of Judge John Overton. Many come from all over to see the beautiful 2000-acre property and original home of Overton. The duel home-museum offers exhibits like The Battle of Nashville and A Past Uncovered: The Story of the Enslaved People of Travellers Rest. The exhibits highlight the history of the Civil War time period through interactive touch screens, informative panels, and original artifacts.

Travellers Rest also offers events throughout the year. Past events have included historic trade and folk art demonstrations like blacksmithing, candle dipping, basket weaving, natural dyes and more.
